Where and When to Apply

Where and when to apply at the Netherlands Visa Reception Centre.

• If you intend to visit the Netherlands for short stay( tourism/business) and airport transit only.
• If you intend to visit several Schengen countries, you must apply for a visa at the Embassy of the country of your main destination (i.e. where you spend the longest period of time).
• If you intend to visit several Schengen countries, but do not have a clear main destination, you should apply for a visa at the Embassy of the country of your first point of entry.

Exemptions categories

If you do belong to one of the exemption categories you are required to make an appointment at VFS for direct submission of the application at the Embassy.

• MVV (resident permit) applicants
• NFP fellowships
• Emergency cases ( i.e. death of close relatives, medical emergencies )
• Individual applicants belonging to one of the above mentioned categories are required to make an appointment online or by calling +233 76 9018/4817(Ext 2)
